AEC Education Office Hosts In-Service

On Monday, November 10, 2025, the AEC Office of Education gathered together with approximately 70 educators from various conferences. The conferences represented included Allegheny East, Chesapeake, New Jersey, and Potomac. The banquet hall was decorated beautifully with autumn colors for the event.

The day started with an inspiring devotional thought from Mrs. Penny Rodgers, Administrative Assistant for the Office of Education. The welcome and opening remarks were given by Dr. John Alberty, Superintendent for the Office of Education at the Allegheny East Conference and Ms. Ruth Nino, Associate Director for Elementary Education at the Columbia Union Conference.

Following that, the educators separated to attend one of the two sessions being offered. Dr. Pete Palmer presented a workshop on “Mathematics” and our guest presenter, Mrs. Carisa Carr, Associate Director of Education at the Mid-America Union Conference, presented a workshop on “The Science of Reading and UFLI.” The presentations were lively and engaging.

A delicious meal was served after the morning workshops. Some of our educators from various schools, including staff from George E. Peters Adventist School, served the educators in the multipurpose room. The workshops continued in the afternoon.

We would like to say a special “thank you” to Dr. Tanishia Pride and her staff for being gracious hosts. They went over and beyond the call of duty to ensure that everything went smoothly. We appreciate the effort they made to make us feel warm in a friendly, beautiful environment.
