G.E. Peters Takes 1st Place at Annual Spelling Bee

On Sunday, April 27th, 2025, students, teachers, parents, family and friends along with the Allegheny East Office of Education staff met for the annual regional Spelling Bee at the Dupont Park Adventist Church.

The pronouncer for the Spelling Bee was Dr. Tenickia Polk.  There were also four judges: Maurice V. Parker, Gwen Mosley Coleman, Brittny Culzac and Charlene M. Wright.

Congratulations to our winners: 1st Place: Dayna Defoe (George E. Peters); 2nd Place: Michael Fliou (Dupont Park); 3rd Place: Eden McKinnie (Hillside). Due to Dayna Defoe’s 1st place win, George E. Peters will be the host of next year’s competition.
