Christmas in February: A Gift of Learning and Love
While most of us associate the fall season with the familiar rush to purchase school supplies, Mt. Zion Miracle Station in Wilmington, Delaware, discovered an opportunity to bring Christmas joy at an unexpected time of year.
Under the leadership of Pastor Carlos McConico, our congregation planned ahead in 2025 to replenish much needed school supplies in 2026 for a local school in our community. We chose Stubbs Early Education Center, located right in the neighborhood where Mt. Zion worships, making this outreach especially meaningful.
After connecting with Principal Andrea Collins-White to understand the school's greatest needs, we focused our efforts on supporting all six kindergarten classes. These young learners received fresh supplies including colored pencils, tissues, crayons, and construction paper: essential tools to help them explore, create, and learn.
This ministry exemplifies the generous spirit of Mt. Zion's members, who willingly share the blessings God has entrusted to them. As we're reminded in Luke 12:48 (KJV): "For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more."
Thank you to everyone who participated in making this "Christmas in February" possible. Your faithfulness in stewarding God's gifts has touched the lives of children, teachers, and families at Stubbs Early Education Center.
We have been invited back to the school to participate in their March reading program.
