First Millsboro Partners in October Coat Drive for Veterans
On October 7, 2025, members of First Millsboro Seventh-day Adventist Church, including James and Karen Hamlin, joined with Karin Harmon of Ridgway Law Group, LLC to launch the October Community Give Back Month initiative. The kickoff celebration was held at Signatures at Bayside in Selbyville, Delaware.
This year, First Millsboro SDA has partnered with Community Title Network (CTN) and Ridgway Law Group (RLG)to collect winter coats and toiletries for homeless veterans served by the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (NCHV). Collection boxes are located in all CTN and RLG offices across Delaware, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Ohio.
Now in its second year, the project builds on last year’s success, which brought in 300 coats. The goal for 2025 is to collect 500 coats by the end of October. Each year, CTN and RLG select a community project as a way to celebrate the company’s anniversary—turning gratitude into action and blessings into service.
In addition to this initiative, the Bethany Beach Office of RLG continues its commitment to the Daily Manna Food Pantry, where Karen Hamlin serves as ministry leader.
Community members are encouraged to join the October Coat Drive. For details, contact Karin Harmon at admin@millsborosda.com or call (302) 245-9257.
This partnership between church and community reflects the spirit of Hebrews 10:24–25 (NIV):
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together…but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
