West Philadelphia Hosts Its First Friendship Day

West Philadelphia Church recently hosted its inaugural Friendship Fellowship Day, creating an opportunity for members to share their faith by inviting unchurched friends and family members to worship and fellowship with the church.

The Sabbath also featured a Community Baby Blessing, celebrating families and dedicating young children to God. Parents and children were further encouraged through a special Back-to-School Prayer and Anointing, asking God’s guidance, protection, and blessing as the new school year begins.

Among the distinguished guests was Pennsylvania House Speaker Joanna E. McClinton, who presented Pastor Jovan Whyte and the congregation with a citation honoring West Philadelphia Church for its commitment to community outreach in the city and recognizing the church for hosting the special day.

The celebration underscored West Philadelphia Church’s desire to be a place where faith extends beyond the sanctuary—strengthening families, building friendships, and serving the broader West Philadelphia community.
