Breath of Life Church Opens Its Doors to Visitors at Community Guest Day

The pews were fuller, the smiles were wider, and the Spirit of God was powerfully present as Breath of Life Seventh-day Adventist Church members hosted a successful Community Guest Day on April 26, 2025. This was a wonderful opportunity to extend Christian love and friendship to our neighbors and to the wider community. Our hope is that we can lovingly introduce the surrounding community to the work of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and to win new members. we were especially blessed by our pastor, Dr. Colby Matlock who delivered an inspiring and uplifting message.

We were also able to share God’s love, extend hospitality, and demonstrate our Christian faith to the local community by inviting some of the community workers. These workers provide vital services, making our lives safer, healthier, and more functional. We presented Community Awards to the following:

  • Daffodil Baez-President of Fort Washington Medical Center

  • Bridget Board- A Third Grade Community Student at Apple Grove Public School in Prince George’s County

  • Firefighters of the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Station 847

  • Principal Nina Lattimore- Principal of Collin Powell Academy Public School of Prince George’s County

  • Police Officers of Prince George’s County Division 7 Command Staff

  • Kristen Thompson, Choir Director and the Students in Her Choir of Largo Public High School of Prince George’s County

  • Charles E. Walton, Esq. Attorney-President of the Tantallon Citizen Homeowners Association

  • Vennard Wright- The President and CEO of PerVista, A Platform That Leverages AI to

Detect Firearms in Schools and Other Public Places

The success of Community Guest Day was and is a testament of God’s love and the power of fellowship. We are inspired by the new friends we’ve made and are excited to continue on this journey of faith together. We know the mission to share the gospel is ongoing. We will continue to be a beacon of light in our community, extending Christ’s love to everyone we meet. The words of Psalm 122:1 are offered: “I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord.” It is our prayer that you, our guests, will return to worship with us again.
