Camp Davis Week 2: Adventure, Creativity, and Faith Continue to Shape Young Lives
As Camp Davis enters its final days, campers have embraced another week filled with exciting adventures, hands-on learning, meaningful worship, and lasting friendships. Week two has continued to build on the momentum of an unforgettable summer experience, providing opportunities for spiritual growth, personal development, and plenty of fun.
Each day has begun with morning worship, setting the tone for campers to grow closer to Christ before diving into a full schedule of activities. Throughout the week, campers have explored their creativity and curiosity through engaging STEM and enrichment experiences, including scavenger hunts, marshmallow catapults, solar oven challenges, self-defense, culinary sessions, marble runs, paper airplane engineering, and DNA extraction experiments.
Creative expression has also remained a highlight as campers designed puppet bags, crafted bracelets and beads, folded intricate origami creations, and prepared colorful tie-dye projects. Recreation has kept campers active with swimming, water fights, open gym, basketball, volleyball, kickball, soccer, and other team-building activities that encouraged sportsmanship and cooperation.
One of the week's biggest highlights was Thursday's trip to Dorney Park, where campers enjoyed thrilling rides, attractions, and unforgettable memories together. Earlier in the week, another group outing to Dave & Buster's added an extra dose of excitement, giving campers the opportunity to enjoy games and fellowship outside of camp.
Evenings have continued to strengthen the camp community through a variety of spirited activities, including relay races, tug-of-war, movie night, game night, and a talent show. These moments have not only created laughter and friendly competition but have also strengthened friendships that will continue long after camp concludes.
Campers also enjoyed Gospel Karaoke on Friday night. Sabbath worship will provide a fitting conclusion to the camp experience, bringing campers together to reflect on God's blessings and the spiritual lessons they will carry home. Saturday evening the banquet was a special celebration celebrating the experiences, accomplishments, and relationships formed throughout the summer
From worship to workshops, recreation to relationships, Camp Davis provided an environment where faith, fun, and personal growth came together—creating memories and life-changing experiences that will last well beyond the summer.
