Bethany Haitian Concludes First “Voice of the Elders" Evangelism Initiative

COLUMBIA, Md. — Bethany Haitian Seventh-day Adventist Church recently concluded its first Voice of the Elders” Evangelism Initiative, a landmark two-week spiritual revival within the HBH District. The series ended on a high note with celebration, recognition, and a renewed commitment to spreading the gospel beyond the walls of the local church.

Three local elders, Arnel Nerette, Dyonny Dormevil, and Whedly Beautellusfaithfully proclaimed the Word of God throughout the evangelistic initiative. Each elder brought a distinctive message of hope, salvation, and spiritual renewal, allowing God to use his gifts to strengthen the congregation and reach members of both the local and online communities.

Throughout the three weeks, worshippers were encouraged, lives were touched, and several individuals made decisions to follow Christ and deepen their relationship with Him.

“The gospel has been preached, and the church has been edified,” said Daphnée Joseph-Massean, Bethany Haitian’s communication director. Her words reflected the congregation’s gratitude for the spiritual impact of the initiative and the faithful service of the participating elders.

During the closing celebration, Dr. Brian Ladiny, senior pastor of the HBH District, recognized the three elders and their spouses for their sacrifice, partnership, and willingness to be used by God. Their spouses were honored for providing the encouragement and support necessary throughout the preparation and preaching of the revival.

The celebration was not simply the conclusion of an evangelistic series. It also marked the beginning of a broader missionary vision. As formzr professor of Evangelism and Church Ministries, Dr. Ladiny presented the elders with evangelistic tools and commissioned them to serve as local evangelists, prepared to assist with church planting and mobile evangelism throughout the region.

The elders are now being equipped to carry the gospel into underserved and remote communities, including areas of western Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. Through mobile evangelism, the HBH District hopes to reach individuals and families who may not have access to a Haitian Adventist congregation or a consistent place of worship.

Bethany Haitian’s elders are emerging from this initiative trained, encouraged, and prepared to use their spiritual gifts in new mission fields. Their ministry demonstrates that local elders are not only called to support the work within their congregations but also to become evangelists, church planters, and ambassadors of Christ wherever God may send them.

The Bethany Haitian congregation invites members throughout the Allegheny East Conference to keep Nerette, Dormevil, Beautellus, and their families in prayer as they continue using their evangelistic gifts and resources to reach souls, plant new ministries, and advance the kingdom of God.

The first “Voice of the Elders” initiative may have concluded, but its mission is only beginning.
