Emmanuel St. Leonard Church Hosts Women’s Day

The ladies of Emmanuel St. Leonard Church (St. Leonard, Maryland) had a grand Women's Day program on April 26. Dressed in their most elegant black and white attire, the ladies had a phenomenal program filled with lots of exciting components. The area women's leader gave an inspirational thought on the etymology of Yahweh. A trio of men from the county had hands waving and people standing as they sang heartily and harmoniously, “I’m so Glad Trouble Don’t Last Always.”

Then, the church's women's ministry leader, Tanya Parker, and her assistant recognized and honored three young ladies from the church and three adult ladies from the community. Lynda Hodges sang a sobering and heartfelt rendition of “Great is Thy Faithfulness” for the song of mediation, and Dr. Shirley Johnson preached a thundering message titled "A King, a Fool, and a Beautiful Lady." She had the ladies shouting amens as she made the 21st Century version of the Bible story of David, Nabol, and Abigail come alive. The service was followed by a scrumptious luncheon prepared by the men and served in Tucker Hall, which had been immaculately decorated in black and white to coordinate with the chosen color for the day. Pastor Trevor Donaldson stated, "The ladies outdid themselves, and I’m sure that Jesus was smiling because the ladies glorified Him."
