First Millsboro Church Collaboration to Help Those In Need
On Saturday Evening, December 6, 2025, Representatives (Lola Peters and Karin Harmon) of the First Millsboro Seventh-day Adventist Church joined in partnership with Mt. Pleasant Church, Inc. of Rehoboth Beach, DE to sing at the 29th Gospel Extravaganza for the Sussex County Gospel Community Choir.
This initial collaboration of the Churches was fostered by an idea between Pastor Jajuan Sanders of First MIllsboro SDA Church and Pastor Bobby L. Bull, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant Church, Inc. Currently, Pastor Bull is the locally funded employee as the pianist for First Millsboro SDA Church. This joining of voices embodies the vision of Music in Worship that is being cultivated at First MIllsboro SDA Church under the leadership of Pastor Sanders.
The Sussex County Gospel Community Choir chooses a Non-Profit Organization each year to be the recipient of the funds from this annual program. This year's program celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ and to raise funds for the Shepherd's Office in Georgetown, Delaware.
The Shepherd's Office is a Non-Profit Organization that assists the homeless and hungry in Sussex County, Delaware. This organization has been in existence for over 15 years. Eric Bodenweiser, Founder & Board Chairman and Jim Martin Director & Board Member attended this service along with family and other members of their team.
The program was held at Dickerson Chapel AME Church located in Millsboro, Delaware. The evening consisted of singing and various talents from at least 10 Churches throughout the Sussex County, Delaware area with more than 200 people in attendance. Pastor Marcus D. Briddell, the Senior Pastor of Dickerson Chapel, provided a sermonette on the life of Jesus and how HE is gracious to each one of us as we should be to each other.
The evening provided a donation of over $1,000.00 to the Shepherd's Office to assist with their ongoing Ministry.
As the evening ended, Soup and Sandwich to go was provided to all by S. E. Brittingham Enterprises - Catering.
The entire evening from Opening Selection to the Benediction shows
1 Peter 4:10: "As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace."
Merry Christmas to everyone and share your gift.
