Grace Ghana Company Begins Their Journey as a Church

By Afia Sika Osei-Ntansah

Habakkuk 2:3: “For the vision is yet for an appointed time... Though it tarries, wait for it because it will surely come, it

will not delay. ”

Starting in 2008 with a dedicated family moving from Pennsylvania to Delaware, Grace Ghana’s congregation has expanded into a vibrant community of about 45 adults and young adults and 20 youth and children. This remarkable growth culminated in a significant milestone: on July 11, 2026, Grace Ghana Seventh-day Adventist Company was officially organized as a church. This milestone is far more than just a new name or status but stands as a declaration of God’s faithfulness after seventeen years of prayer and renewed dedication to His mission.

The organization service was marked by a procession of flags by Calvary Pathfinders from Philadelphia Ghana, transporting the older audience to days of youth, where Adventist principles of faith and service to man were instilled. The celebration continued with remarks from representatives of the Washington, New Life, Ebenezer, Maranatha, and Philadelphia Ghanaian Churches, as well as the Angaza Sharon Seventh-day Adventist Church, reminiscent of the warm greetings the Apostle Paul extended to the believers in his letter to the Colossians. Their words exemplified the bond of Christian fellowship and encouraged Grace Ghana as it embarks on this new chapter of ministry. The sanctuary was also filled with heartfelt praise to the Almighty in Twi, Swahili, and English. These songs of thanksgiving beautifully showcased the diversity of God’s family and reminded the congregation that the God who created every nation and people delights in their united worship. The ministerial director even joyfully exclaimed that worshiping with Grace Ghana reminded him of his membership in a larger global Church. The participation of these sister congregations further demonstrates the camaraderie between Grace Ghana and the wider Adventist community.

The sermon, delivered by Dr. Ronald D. Williams Jr., challenged the congregation to look beyond what the day commemorates and to recognize its deeper significance. They were reminded that the status of a church is not the finish line but a starting point, and this denotes greater responsibility to fulfill God's mission. Drawing from the example of the early church in Acts, Dr. Williams reminded the congregation that the first believers were deeply devoted not only to Christ but also to one another. They exemplified God’s love tangibly, never hesitating to minister to the needs of man and willingly sharing their possessions with those in need. Indeed, it was this love and generosity that built a strong community within the church and drew others in, leading to the church’s exponential growth.

Therefore, July 11th is not just a day of celebration; rather, it is a reminder to Grace Ghana Church to persistently win souls for God's kingdom. Echoing Dr. Williams, there is no standing still, no stopping, and no parking in Christ's mission. As Grace Ghana enters this new chapter, it renews its commitment to the Great Commission and embraces the larger responsibility to continue winning disciples for Jesus Christ.

The words of Psalm 37:5 encapsulate the congregation's journey and its future: “Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. ”; The same faithful God who sustained Grace Ghana through seventeen years will continue to lead as it spreads the everlasting gospel and prepares people for Jesus Christ's return. Great is His faithfulness!
