President Kinlock Attends Funeral Service for Beloved AEC family
Over 800 family, friends, and community showed up at the Metropolitan SDA church to support the Monkou family in the loss of parents, Alden and Helianthe Monkou. The couple spent over 40 years at the Metropolitan church raising children and grandchildren and were greatly beloved by the community. The Monkous tragically passed away leaving a broken community in their wake. Alden was a faithful deacon, singer, and participated in men's ministry. Helianthe served as church clerk, sabbath school ministry, and new believers welcoming ministry. Their four adult children, Earl, Joy, Lance, and Dwight delivered touching tributes to their parents. In addition to many AEC clergy, Dr. Kinlock shared reflections of warm memories in the Monkou home and prayed a covering of comfort over the family. Because of the faithful promise of the resurrection, we look forward to seeing them again!

Dr. Kinlock Delivers Devotional at Columbia Union Executive Committee
Kinlock poses with Union executive committee members, Dr. Ron Williams, Pastor Stephen Lee (president NJ conference), Pastor Jerry Lutz (president Chesapeake conference), Dr. Marcellus Robinson (president Columbia Union), and Mrs. Celeste Ryan-Blyden (vice president Columbia Union)
Elder Kinlock attended the recent Columbia Union Executive Committee meeting that was held at the Allegheny East Conference Office. Reflecting on the distressing socio-political climate of the world, Kinlock pointed the union committee to the last day mandate of justice as articulated in Amos 5:23,24 and Revelation 14:7. Because this was many committee members' first time at Pine Forge, Dr. Kinlock shared the 300 year history of the land, from its serving as an abolitionist post and key terminal of the Underground Railroad, to its 80 year history of providing opportunity and exceptional education for Black students. After their meeting, Union members were treated to an exquisite meal followed by a tour of the Pine Forge campus. Many remarked on the beauty of the conference office and expressed their appreciation to be on a campus with such rich history.
