Issues of the Heart: A Weekend of Healing, Fellowship and Grace
New Joy Fellowship in Hagerstown, Maryland, celebrated a meaningful Women’s Ministries weekend on October 10–11, 2026, centered on healing, forgiveness, spiritual growth, and fellowship.
On Sabbath, October 10, the congregation welcomed guest speaker Sis. Jacci Davis for Women’s Ministry Day. Through her testimony and message, Davis encouraged attendees to release past hurts, embrace forgiveness, and trust God in the healing process. Her message resonated with both women and younger members of the congregation, offering encouragement to move forward with faith and renewed purpose.
The afternoon program continued the theme of personal and spiritual growth through conversations with youth and an engaging discussion on personality types and how they can influence relationships and interactions within the body of Christ. The session provided an opportunity for reflection and helped participants consider how greater self-awareness, understanding, and grace can strengthen relationships within the church family.
The weekend continued on Sunday with New Joy’s Vintage Tea Party, coordinated by Women’s Ministries coordinator Sis. Ivy Walker. Guests gathered in an elegant setting featuring beautifully arranged tables, teacups, colorful hats and gloves, refreshments, and a festive photo backdrop. Men and women of all ages participated, including the youngest guest, age 11, making the gathering a truly intergenerational experience.
Pastor Melvyn Hayden, III also joined the celebration as attendees enjoyed an assortment of teas, finger foods, fresh fruit, conversation, and fellowship. The afternoon concluded with a lighthearted fashion walk that allowed the women to showcase their vintage-inspired attire and added an extra element of joy to the gathering.
More than a social event, the tea party created space for connection, laughter, and renewed relationships. Together, the Sabbath service and Sunday gathering reflected the mission of New Joy’s Women’s Ministries to provide opportunities for spiritual healing, personal growth, fellowship, and encouragement.
New Joy Fellowship looks forward to continuing these ministry experiences in 2027, including a follow-up visit from Sis. Jacci Davis and the next annual tea party.
