Joint Cedars/Coastal Shores Elders Ordination

On Sabbath, March 21st, Cedars of Lebanon hosted, alongside Coastal Shores of Virginia, a combined ordination service for three of their local elders. Pastor David Thorpe of Cedars and Pastor James Hiers of Coastal Shores have combined efforts to produce growth in both churches and to make disciples. The guest speaker for the day was Dr. Lucombe of New Hope, who delivered an inspiring, spirit-filled word from God that set the tone for those newly called into ministry.

Throughout scripture, the role of an elder involves spiritual oversight, integrity, and devotion (Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:2-3). These three individuals have demonstrated a consistent commitment to God's work, showing themselves faithful in service, steadfast in character, and willing in spirit. Their journey to this moment has been shaped by prayer, perseverance, and affirmation from both God and this church body.

It was indeed a high day in Zion at Cedars of Lebanon as family and friends gathered to witness Robin-Davis Thrasher and Dorian Randall of Cedars, alongside Ann-Marie Johnson of Coastal Shores, being blessed to become ordained elders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Let us celebrate what God has done and look forward with expectation to what He will do through their leadership.
