Miracle City Hosts 8th Annual Back to School Bash
Miracle City SDA Church in Baltimore MD hosted its 8th annual Back to School Bash for the community on Sunday afternoon, August 23rd. It was exceptionally attended, as many people were blessed with school supplies & necessities, burgers & hot dogs, resources from various ministries of the church (specifically youth ministries), & the young people indulged in the fun -filled Activity Funhouse, slurped snowballs, played hoops, smacked the whack-a-mole, and received face painting. The highlight of the event was Dr. Noah Washington, Miracle City’s lead pastor, as the emcee for the day and the awarding of several door prizes to attendees with the “winning” tickets. Door prizes that were handed out included one desk & chair set, two Baltimore Ravens NFL jerseys, two Lego sets, a bookstore gift card, a makeup mirror, and a bouquet of flowers. Audio-visual support and music were provided by Apogee Solutions
Thank you to the thirty volunteers who took the time to stuff backpacks or divvy up supplies or pass out flyers, or jumping in during the day. A special shout-out to our vendors and partners who manned the resource tables: National Association of University Women, Greater Baltimore Branch, ConnexionPoint Church, Westgate Hills Rehab & Nursing Facility, Vaughn Greene Funeral Home, Kick Dreams United, Oasis Home Health Services and the Baltimore City Fire Department.
Everyone’s commitment to serving was invaluable in assisting over 200 attendees, distributing over 400 backpacks with supplies, and providing over 30 free haircuts/ hair stylings by volunteer barbers and stylists. Miracle City had enough leftover supplies to stock teacher closets at North Bend Elementary School and Beechfield Elementary & Middle School in West Baltimore with extra glue, construction paper, pencils, pencil boxes, paper towels, Clorox wipes, Kleenex tissues, erasers, highlighters, whiteboards, dry erase markers, and scissors.
Miracle City’s next outreach event will be feeding the unhoused at two locations in Baltimore on August 29, 2026.
