Mt. Olivet (Camden) Baptizes 110 Through Compassion Project

On August 6th to 16th, 2025, the Mt. Olivet SDA Church under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Robert Best began a venture to save souls for the Kingdom of God. This venture is referred to as the Compassion Project 2025. Evangelist Conklin Gentry preached soul-stirring messages every evening to prepare the hearts of the people to not only hear the Word of God but also to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. It resulted in 109 precious souls (which included young people and adults) giving their hearts and souls to Jesus Christ.
This was a joint venture that started with Pastor Daniel Hall sharing his vision for evangelism and ministry throughout the Allegheny East Conference churches. Pastor Hall’s drive and excitement for ministry pricked the hearts of our pastor and members and enabled us to have a plan of action as we worked together collectively and effortlessly through various ministries.
The church formed relationships with the new believers through fun events, luncheons, and giveaways throughout the entire 11 days. The giveaways included essentials, clothing, sneakers, gift cards, bikes, and scooters. The event ended with a welcome party where old members were able to greet and meet the new members. A great time was had by all, especially the children, who enjoyed their time in the pool.
All in all, it was a team effort, and the church was blessed. On Sunday, August 31, 2025, the newly baptized members, along with the old members, will embark on a trip to the Cape May Zoo in Cape May, New Jersey. This trip will allow us to continue bonding and strengthening our relationships with one another. God has truly blessed us. To God be the glory. Great things He has done. We now look forward to retaining more souls for the kingdom using the skills, gifts, and talents that God has given us to fulfill the Gospel Commission found in Matthew 28:19, “Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”
