S.A.L.T. Ministries Visits Mt. Sinai to Share Vision for Serving the Unsheltered

It was an inspiring weekend at Mt. Sinai SDA Church in Trenton, NJ, as we welcomed Eric Camarillo, founder of S.A.L.T. Ministries (Service and Love Together). Hearing how S.A.L.T. is transforming lives in Florida stirred conviction in our hearts and left members saying, “Let us know how we can help!”

Mt. Sinai has always answered the call to serve—whether near or far—and now, we’re committed to joining S.A.L.T.’s mission to reach the unsheltered with practical help and the love of Christ.

About S.A.L.T.
Founded by Eric in 2011, S.A.L.T. was born out of a vision to unite churches, foster impactful outreach, and provide consistent, relationship-based service to those in need. What began with community service events quickly focused on helping the unsheltered in Orlando. Today, S.A.L.T. operates a mobile outreach center offering showers, clean clothing, laundry services, haircuts, mail services, charging stations, and case management. They serve over 100 people per day, providing tens of thousands of essential services each year. S.A.L.T. also partners with cities, churches, and organizations, and has expanded its model into other communities.

The Call to Action
We believe God is calling us to step out in faith—just as Moses did when God parted the Red Sea—and trust Him to open the way. We invite churches, individuals, and organizations across New Jersey to unite with us, bringing our God-given time, talents, and resources to help “the least of these” and show them the love of Christ. To get involved, contact Pastor@themountsda.org or Outreach@themountsda.org.

Honoring Service
During this special weekend, we also recognized Patricia Hicks with a plaque for her six years of service as Community Service Director. Her kind words, contagious smile, and dedication to God’s work have deeply blessed our church family.

We are grateful to Eric Camarillo an d S.A.L.T. Ministries for sharing their blueprint for outreach. May God continue to expand this work so that His love reaches every community in need.
