United Hope Church Hosts 50-Plus Prayer Breakfast

United Hope Seventh-day Adventist Church joyfully hosted its first 50 Plus Prayer Breakfast since relocating from Irvington and embracing our renewed identity and mission here in Union, New Jersey. This meaningful gathering marked a milestone in our church’s journey, celebrating God’s faithfulness through transition, growth, and new beginnings.

We were especially honored by the presence of Sister Barbara Stanislaus, area leader overseeing 50+ ministries, whose leadership and encouragement underscored the significance of this historic occasion.

The morning was filled with prayer, thanksgiving, fellowship, and heartfelt reflection, creating a sacred space where faith, experience, and encouragement flowed freely among those in attendance.

Throughout the morning, the theme of the Sabbath School lesson, “Giants of Faith,” came alive as we reflected on Joshua and Caleb. Their strength, vigor, and unwavering trust in God—even in advanced age—served as a powerful reminder that God continues to use us at every stage of life. Like Caleb, who at 85 boldly declared, “Give me this mountain,” our 50-plus members were inspired to claim God’s promises with courage, resilience, and hope. Testimonies affirmed that spiritual vigor does not fade with age—it deepens.

The gathering concluded with a time of warm fellowship and shared joy, and we extend special appreciation to Sister Hazel Ellis, Head of the 50 Plus Ministry at United Hope, for her leadership, dedication, and faithful service to this ministry. Laughter, conversation, and shared joy.

This Prayer Breakfast was a beautiful reminder that United Hope remains a church where every generation is valued, faith is nurtured, and God’s mission continues—rooted in the past, active in the present, and confident in His leading for the future. We thank God for the fellowship shared and look forward to many more opportunities to grow together in prayer, service, and unity.
