Hagerstown Haitian Celebrates Its First Men’s Ministries Emphasis Sabbath

HAGERSTOWN, Md. — The Hagerstown Haitian Seventh-day Adventist Church recently celebrated a historic milestone with its first Men’s Ministries Emphasis Sabbath—a joyful day of worship, fellowship, appreciation, and spiritual renewal.

The newly organized Men’s Ministries department is led by Samuel Etienne, a college student and dedicated young adult leader. Under his leadership, the men of the congregation came together to organize a memorable Sabbath centered on spiritual responsibility, Christian dignity, and service.

The celebration followed the church’s successful “Month of Esther,” during which the women honored and encouraged the men of the congregation. The Men’s Ministries Emphasis Sabbath offered the men an opportunity to return that appreciation by recognizing and serving the women of the church.

The sanctuary was beautifully decorated in green, while members dressed in coordinated black, green, and gold attire. The colors created a vibrant and elegant atmosphere that reflected the unity, joy, and significance of the occasion.

Elder Jacquelin Belizaire served as the guest speaker. Belizaire is a respected journalist within the Haitian diaspora and a former Men’s Ministries leader in the district. His powerful message challenged men to prepare for eternity and to become men of dignity, integrity, honor, and spiritual courage.

Through his sermon, Belizaire reminded the congregation that godly manhood is not measured merely by position or accomplishments but by a man’s relationship with God, his treatment of others, and his commitment to serving his family, church, and community.

The celebration continued after the worship service with a special meal prepared and served by the men of the church in honor of the women. The thoughtful gesture demonstrated that Christian leadership includes humility, appreciation, and a willingness to serve.

Pastor Tabuanka Jean, who witnessed the celebration, expressed the gratitude of the women of the congregation.

“We, the women of Hagerstown Haitian, were honored and uplifted by our brothers,” Jean said. “They made sure that we felt valued, respected, heard, and understood.”

The first Men’s Ministries Emphasis Sabbath represented more than a special program. It demonstrated the growing involvement of young adults in church leadership, strengthened the bond between the men and women of the congregation, and encouraged men of all generations to embrace their God-given responsibilities.

The Hagerstown Haitian congregation celebrates Samuel Etienne and the entire Men’s Ministries team for their vision, dedication, and outstanding service.
