Celebrating Calvin Taylor, Sr for 50+ Years of Service to AEC

The office staff of Allegheny East Conference celebrated the retirement of Calvin H. Taylor, Sr., plant manager, for over 50 years. Staff members, as well as family and close friends gathered at Shady Maple Smorgasbord in East Earl, PA, on Wednesday, July 22nd.

Colleagues and family share memories highlighting Taylor’s strong work ethic and dedication to the field. The phrase, “Call Calvin” was expressed numerous times throughout the afternoon, as many expressed Taylor’s ability to seemingly fix anything or solve any dilemma. Attendees also played a game to find out who knew the most about Taylor, where they learned his favorite pastime is volleyball, his favorite hobby is mechanics, and if he could have chosen another career, it would have been truck driving.

He was also presented with several gifts, including a mini bus bank, a nod to his many years of driving buses for conference and school-related needs; a dump truck with a gift card, signaling his expertise with construction equipment; and other cards and affirmations.

Taylor retires officially on July 31st, 2026.
