HBH Haitian Maryland District Celebrates the “Month of Esther”
The Horeb–Bethanie–Hagerstown (HBH) Haitian Seventh-day Adventist District, which serves members across five states: Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. is celebrating the entire month of March as the “Month of Esther.”
Under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Brian Ladiny, District Pastor, and Pastor Tabuanka Jean, HBH Haitian Women’s Ministries District Coordinator, women throughout the district have been called to a special season of prayer, fasting, and spiritual renewal inspired by the biblical example of Queen Esther.
Throughout the month of March, women across the HBH district gather three times daily at 7:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, and 7:00 p.m. to intercede in prayer for their families, their churches, their communities, and national leaders.
“For such a time as this, God has set us apart to lift up our men, our husbands, our sons, our grandsons, as well as government and church leaders in prayer,” said Pastor Tabuanka Jean, who is assisting in coordinating this district-wide spiritual initiative.
The month-long emphasis begins with daily prayer and fasting and culminates in a series of special Sabbath services during which women take an active leadership role in worship throughout the district.
“We are not celebrating just one Sabbath,” Pastor Jean explained. “We are celebrating every Sabbath throughout the month of March as women rise in faith and service.”
On Sabbath, March 7, three dedicated Women’s Ministries leaders delivered inspiring messages in their respective congregations:
* Sister Elmita Pericles-Talabert preached at Horeb Haitian SDA Church
* Sister Daphnée Joseph-Masséan preached at Bethanie Haitian SDA Church
Sister Islande Fleurimé-Dieudonné preached at Hagerstown Haitian SDA Church
As part of the three-week revival and evangelistic series, three dynamic Haitian women pastors will minister across the district during the month of March:
Pastor Jacqueline Émile
* Pastor Telaine Buisson-Fleurmond
* Pastor Esther Paul-Émile
Throughout the month, the district is visually united under the colors pink, yellow and purple, symbolizing the beauty, strength, and mission of women dedicated to serving God.
Reflecting on the initiative, Pastor Dr. Brian Ladiny shared:
"Indeed, the garden of our district has been blessed with beautiful flowers that illuminate and reflect God’s glory. As three churches united under one God and one mission, we continue to shine together with the purpose of saving souls for Christ."
The Month of Esther stands as a powerful reminder that when women unite in prayer, faith, and service, God can move in extraordinary ways to strengthen families, churches, and communities.
