Teen Leadership Training Weekend: Worship, Connection, Growth

By Brianne Aminga, TLT Mentor, New Maranatha-Karibu

On May 3rd and 4th, I had the privilege of attending a Teen Leadership Training (TLT) retreat that was filled with reflection, connection, and growth. Overall, this TLT retreat was more than just a getaway; it was a chance to grow, reflect, and build deeper bonds. Saturday started with a solid breakfast that gave us the energy we needed for the day. We then gathered for a meaningful time of worship that really set the tone, followed by the promotion ceremony, a special moment where I officially completed my Level 4 TLT training.

Later in the day, we went on a group hike. Many people were dealing with allergies, and the hills were steep, which made it a bit tough. I really appreciated the opportunity to be in nature and disconnect for a while. Saturday night stood out as a time when we all truly came together. Everyone got involved in the games, and it felt like a genuine moment of fellowship among TLTs from different clubs. It gave us a chance to relax, laugh, and fellowship with one another outside of the usual structure of our clubs. It was refreshing to see everyone enjoy each other’s company.

On Sunday, we wrapped up the weekend with a fun trip to Urban Air. It was a great way to wind down and continue spending quality time together. We shared laughs, encouraged each other, and ended the retreat on a joyful note. Even though I’ve completed my Level 4, I’m looking forward to staying connected and giving back to the TLT program that’s given so much to me.
