AEC Hosts Its First Women’s Clergy Retreat
AEC’s Women’s Ministries Department hosted all of the women clergy for a relaxing weekend getaway April 12-14 at The Inn at Leola Village in Leola, PA.
A thoughtfully curated weekend retreat offered women clergy a chance to rest, reconnect, and be renewed through fellowship, worship, and simple joys.
The experience began Sunday afternoon with a gentle arrival and check-in, allowing guests to settle in and unwind. As evening approached, participants gathered for a shared dinner at a local restaurant, setting the tone for meaningful connection. The night continued with a relaxed welcome social filled with games, laughter, and sisterhood.
Monday invited attendees to “Relax, Refresh & Enjoy,” beginning with a peaceful sunrise worship service that centered the spirit. Afterward, a hearty country-style breakfast provided comfort and nourishment. The afternoon was dedicated to self-care, with manicures and pedicures offering a chance to slow down and be pampered. The day closed with dinner in town and a fun-filled evening designed to spark joy and deepen bonds.
On Tuesday morning, the group gathered once more for sunrise worship, followed by a classic diner breakfast. The retreat concluded with an inspiring live theatrical experience, leaving attendees uplifted and spiritually renewed as they prepared to return to their ministries.
Blending rest, reflection, and recreation, the weekend retreat created space for women clergy to recharge while strengthening connections with one another.
“We had a blast!” said Dr. Marleena Debrough, Women’s Ministries Director.
